About Blarney Yarn.
My mother and grandmother taught me to knit and crochet when I was a young girl. While I wasn’t immediately hooked, their lessons planted the seed for what is now one of my life's passions.
In graduate school, I began to knit in a serious way after I learned to spin yarn with a drop spindle. At the time, yarn was a pleasant distraction from the rigors of study. Soon after I learned to spin, I began to dye yarn and spinning fiber. It wasn't long after this that I opened my Etsy shop so that I could share some of my creations with other fiber artists.
In addition to spinning, knitting, and crochet, I also enjoy weaving. My favorite fibers to work with include merino, bluefaced leicester, and polwarth wools, silk, kid mohair, baby camel, cashmere, yak, cotton, and linen.
I hope that you find as much joy in the textile arts as I do.
