Yards of Tea Towels

When I weave towels, I like to put on 6 or more yards of warp. That way, I can weave a series of towels that are related, but not identical. In particular, I love to change the color of the weft yarn with each towel.

Sarah Jackson, one of the members of my weaving guild, hosted a weave-along based on a towel pattern that she designed. I used Sarah’s pattern and warp color suggestions in the warp. But for the weft colors, I opted to weave a rainbow of towels instead of the multi-color towels that Sarah designed.

It was so much fun to watch the color changes as I wove! The pictures below show the fabric on the loom, the completed and washed fabric, and the final rainbow of towels.
